As a Tech Director - Retail, you will be a key early hire to lead our frontend developer team. You will pair your natural design instincts with a strong engineering and development foundation to build an intuitive, user-friendly experiences that retail consumers can interact with and leverage every day. You will bring experience as a technology leader and work hand-in-hand with media strategy, analytics, creative, and campaign strategy teams, facilitating the execution and proper tracking of all go-to-market retail technology initatives.
Experience required :
Lead a team of front end and back end developers and work together on the critical
path of retail projects
Use modern web technologies to design and code responsive applications
Partner with product leaders and designers to design amazing customer experiences
Identify and utilize best in class retail technology partners
Architect, implement and maintain best in class in-store technology experiences such as QR, AR, VR, interactive touchscreens etc.
Work with Strategy, Creative, Project Management and Resource Management to deliver on time and in budget
Identify and implement latest and greatest technology tools and processes
Create and maintain tech documentation
Management and leadership in developing teams in an Agile environment and being the voice of technology in a creative process
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar
6+ years relative work experience
Strong understanding of web development and design constraints/possibilities preferred (HTML 5, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, Angular JS, Bootstrap, NodeJS, and Socket.io)
Proven expertise with ad serving and DCO platforms with previous RFI / platform evaluation and on-boarding experience
Expertise in retail technologies (QR, AR, VR, etc.)
Strategic mindset to projects to be able to negotiate with clients in order to bring a technical vision to life. Having a balance of high-level and tactical mindsets is a must,
as you will spend time both with clients and alongside your fellow teammates.

Strong knowledge and expereince in Retail.
Experience leading teams on all parts of the stack (front end, backend, and middleware)
Ability to solve complex design challenges with creativity, efficiency and with precision
Keen sense of evaluating prioritization; Comfortability with communicating ongoing shifts in workflows and urgencies to your team
Experience influencing others and always advocate for technical excellence while being open to change when needed
Must be self-directed, confident, detailed, hands on and able to work in a fast-paced environment
Hold weekly one-on-one meetings with each team member to discuss wins, issues,
and to work on goal setting / advancement
Excellent communication, both written and spoken to speak distill information for technical and non-technical teams
You’re resilient in ambiguous situations and can approach challenges from multiple perspectives
Experience leading automation solutions
Experience using code best practices and code repositories
Proficient with API design and other 3rd party integrations
Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 and Workfront, a plus
Constantly curious about all things retail tech
